Job Situation Update
Well, Mike is down that he doesn't have a job yet but I think he's doing pretty well. Currently he's got two potential jobs. One at Seagate and one with Lockheed Martin. The Seagate job would be here in OKC and the Lockheed Martin job would be in Lawton. Not ideal true but we've talked and decided it's workable. It would take getting used to and require adjustments but I'm willing to try.
Another possibility that's come up is Microsoft. He applied online thinking why not relocate to the Pacific Northwest. After all...Tamara's best friend lives there. I freaked to put it mildly. I hate moving.
A week ago he actually got a call from a Microsoft HR person. He's since talked to them twice and has another phone interview set up for next Tuesday. Am I crazy in thinking about moving across country? I'm seriously thinking it would be a good thing provided they can offer enough for us to live there.
Don't want to get my hopes up though and neither does he. Right now we're playing it like the offer will come from Lockheed Martin. My mom is totally against it but we're going to try it anyway. If nothing else it'll look damn good on a resume.
After my trip to visit E this month I'll come back and start looking for a job too. It's a nerve-wracking prospect for me because I haven't had a steady job since Duncan was born. And that was the comic store, which almost doesn't count. I also don't count the almost year I filled in as Tracey's assistant. I knew what to expect with that job and how to do most of it and I was working with Tracey.
I always thought I'd wait until Cal was in first grade but if Mike gets the Lawton commute then we'll need the extra money now. May as well quit waiting and do it. The stress will be less for us financially and it'll definitely be nice to get out of the house and around people every day.
