Incredibly Tedious Update
Mike's search for a job continues. He's actually started going on interviews, which is a good sign. He's also making good progress on reglazing our old windows. Unfortunately he's been side-tracked today by plumbing issues.
The other day I started a shower and noticed our shut off for the shower wasn't working well. It never worked great but it was even worse now and the tub would get quite a lot of water in it while you showered due to the amount of water pouring out of the faucet.
Mike decided to take off the faucets last night to see what was going to be needed to fix the issue and, as you might have guessed, ended up with a couple of broken faucet handles. These were most likely installed when the house was built in the 60s so that's not too surprising. He rigged it so we could still shower but the plumbing issue was now a priority.
Today he cut through the wallboard in our hall closet to get to the pipes in the bathroom (beat busting through the tile). This will also have the added benefit of allowing Mike to install shut-off valves to the bathtub pipes. There is light at the end of the tunnel in that our water to the house is now on. We may be taking a bath tonight but I'm optimistic about new fixtures and a working shower by the end of the weekend.
My computer is still shutting off when it heats up. After asking advice from the folks at Uber Etc. I've come to the conclusion that it's likely a power supply problem. I'm assuming it's that and not a memory issue since it just closes down suddenly and takes a few minutes of wait time before it will turn back on. I'm glad I have a good laptop to keep me from being completely computerless.
On the positive news front I finished getting all of the liquid out of our pool today. I'm going to let it dry in the sun tomorrow (today was overcast and cool), then sweep out the debris. Sunday Mike should be able to roll that puppy up and store it for next year. It'll be so nice to set it up next Summer and not have to clean it. Yay me!
