I'm a bad, bad chronicler of my boring life.
Last week didn't go as planned carpet cleaning wise but the kids did have a fun time at Chalice Camp. Over the course of the week Cal received about twenty mosquito bites, mostly on his legs. Duncan brought home four ticks (a first!) and by the end of the week both kids were absolutely wiped.
My carpet cleaner didn't get out of the shop until Friday. I managed to get half the living room done that day. Only half because the other half of the living room was filled with all the stuff from the part getting its carpet cleaned. I found many other little tidying projects to do since my carpet cleaning plans were derailed so the week wasn't wasted.
Friday night Duncan and Mike went back to the camp in Guthrie to camp out with the junior counselors (Duncan will get to be one next year). Cal and I stayed home and went to Chuck E. Cheese's for bad pizza and a swap of $20 in tokens for play time, cotton candy and a Superman pencil. Cal was nice enough to get that last one for me with his tickets at the end of the evening.
Unfortunately this one trip to Chuck E. Cheese's has created a monster. Over the course of this weekend he's badgered me several times to go again, telling me he just wants to see if they're busy. Yeah, right. I told him I couldn't afford to take him to Chuck E. Cheese's again this weekend. Which is true by golly.
Saturday we spent the day at a lovely birthday party for a two year old. It was all outside in a big backyard and there were a ton of things for the kids play on and get wet in. It was damn hot though. Cal's tired finally caught up with him after the party and he zonked out on the couch for several hours.
Sunday I finished the other half of the living room carpet. Yippee!
The kids are back home this week. I'm going to make them help me clear out the computer/gaming/music room so I can clean the carpet in there. That's a bonus at least...slaves to help me move crap. This week will be full of chores and getting ready for heading to Texas on Friday for our annual Paul Family Reunion. Off to start the fun!
