On the mend?
Keeping my fingers crossed. I've thought I was getting better a few times this week only to wake up feeling shittier the next day. Case in point...yesterday. I went to bed feeling pretty good. Even felt like reading something. Slept well all night thanks to the intervention of Tylenol PM. Woke up in the morning feeling like I hadn't slept at all. I could barely drag myself out of bed. I took a shower hoping that would perk me up. Put a load of clothes in the dryer to try and get myself moving. Didn't help. I called mom and asked her to get Cal.
When she got to the house I asked her to take me to the grocery store so I could buy a few food items I could eat. Yesterday's stomach pain while eating chicken noodle soup of all things was fresh on my mind. I figured jell-o would be safe. Applesauce too. I needed more saltines. I was all ready to go to the store and then crapped out. I sent Cal and mom and I dozed on the couch. Haven't felt that sapped of energy in a long time. Probably a consequence of no real food all week.
Once they returned from the store I ate some applesauce. It burned a little but no big shooting pains. Jell-o was much nicer. Slept more while mom and Cal puttered around me. Mike came home after his 11 o'clock meeting and started packing for his trip to Atlanta for Microsoft training. I continued to veg and doze on the couch. It was kinda like those scenes in a movie where everything is speeded up around the central character sitting on the couch.
They left me at lunch time to pick up Duncan and eat at a nearby park. I continued to watch Star Trek on tv and doze, occasionally eating a cracker or vanilla wafer to put something in my stomach. Mom and Cal went back to her house after lunch to pack. She decided since Mike was leaving for two weeks and I was incapacitated that she would spend the night. It was a good thing she did. I slept a whole lot during the day only getting up to pee, get more water and put some chicken noodle soup on for dinner.
Slept in Cal's bed last night--Mom and the boys were in mine. Woke up this morning and felt much better although still tired. Not as tired as yesterday thank goodness. Figure I'll take it easy today. There's not much I need to do beyond tidying and getting gift cards for the mom's for mother's day. I can get the gift cards tomorrow though. Keep your fingers crossed that this time I'm actually on the mend.
