Chores, Chores and More Chores

Nothing much exciting going on at the Hodge Lodge these days. Duncan just completed a month's worth of basketball games at the school. 4th and 5th graders only can sign up and the PE teacher divides them into teams. Each team plays 4 or 5 games lasting about twenty minutes. Duncan's team didn't win a one but they did come damn close with their last one (lost by one point).

Cal continues having fun at Mat Tots. He's been more skilled at it than Duncan. I predict I'll have less trouble getting him to go as he gets older. Heck, maybe he'll want to continue into the big gym once he hits the right age.

Mike is moving into some new areas at work. They no longer need three full time people on the remote access servers (at least I think that's how it's termed) and they've been allowed to pick other areas to get training in. That's good because Mike is one of those people who likes learning new things in his job. Once he gets it down pat he can get bored. New challenges make it more fun for him.

As for me...I do my chores. I run errands. Same ol' thing. Attempting to get the house ready for the two E's to visit the week of my birthday. I went through Cal's toys and boxed up some that he no longer plays with and stored them in the attic. Have a lot more left to do however. Both of the kids closets need serious culling.

Right now I'm gearing up for an early birthday present to me. I leave for a week in Seattle on Sunday and need to get things squared away here so my mom and Mike won't be overwhelmed. Tomorrow I plan on packing and making sure the dirty clothes hamper is empty. Fun!

Today Cal and I spent most of the day at mom's. It was time to get the oil changed in the van and, according to the dealer, time for something to do be done about dirty transmission fluid. It took most of the day for that to get done. Cal and I made it home just in time to cook dinner. All in all, a lazy day.
