3x Thursday on a Friday

1. So...the holidays have begun! Do you like Thanksgiving? Why/why not?

I do like Thanksgiving. It's a holiday that requires no gift giving and you get to eat. What's not to like?

2. What's the perfect Thanksgiving meal?

Well...what we eat every year is perfect--turkey, cornbread dressing and various veggies and fruit salads. The turkey and cornbread dressing are the most important part. Plus pumpkin pie needs to be part of the dessert menu.

3. Where did turkey get involved in all of this? Do you even *like* turkey? If you don't, or even if you do, what's something alternative to have instead of turkey?

From what I've always been taught, wild turkey was part of the first Thanksgiving celebration by the original colonists. I like turkey so I'm okay with that. My uncle hates turkey and Grandma always made ham as well on Thanksgiving. We did that this year too because the turkey we had was kind of small.

Bonus Question for Comments: Have you ever actually made a turkey yourself? Not being a big fan of the dark meant, I've cooked a turkey breast before but not a whole turkey. It was pretty much the same because the breast had the bone in it. When Mike and I lived in New York and New Mexico I had to cook Thanksgiving dinner for both of us. It was kinda fun and in New Mexico we invited friends over as well.
