Busy, Busy

Not much has changed for me since I last blogged. I've still been spending a lot of time organizing our clutter for E's visit. She'll be treated to my huge pile o' junk next to the computer that I need to organize because I've realized that's not getting taken care of before she arrives tomorrow. Today I've got three major things I'd like to do: mop the kitchen floor (done), mop the bathroom and clean the toilet and clean Cal's room so E actually has some place to put her luggage. I'll also have tomorrow morning and early afternoon to get things finished up. I'm confident all will be relatively organized for her arrival.

This Saturday I didn't do too much tidying. Duncan was grounded from X-box and computer (he was grounded Friday too) so he spent several hours with his Nana Gayle messing with the leaf collection that's due at the end of the month. Then just to prove we're not horrible parents, we took the kids to the dollar movies that evening. Ryan and Duncan watched War of the Worlds and we watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Cal, of course, wanted to wander the mall about halfway through the movie. We made him stay in the theater though. Mom liked this movie much better than Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

Sunday Mike had to get up really early to catch a flight to Las Vegas. He and a co-worker were sent to a conference (can't remember what it's for--something computer networking related I think). I think he was ready for a break and will find attending seminars relaxing. I hope he refrains from gambling. Neither one of us is lucky when it comes to games of chance.

Sunday the kids and I hung around the house. I did more tidying for E's visit. Cal played. Duncan got a little X-box time in but he spent several hours again with Nana Gayle working on the leaf collection. Then he had to finish his AR book for school so he could take the test today. That pretty much killed any chances for evening X-box play. Oh well, he'll be back on his regular schedule tonight.
