3x Thursday
1. If you have a significant other, what do they do to show you that they love you? If you don't have one currently, how were you shown that you were loved in the past?
Hmmm...Mike doesn't go in for the flowers and candlelit dinners approach. He does nice things like having lunch with me every day. I get a kiss every morning before he leaves for work. He doesn't bitch about the fact that we had to find a house with adequate storage space for my umpteen jillion boxes of comics. He also doesn't bitch about the fact that I continue to add to those umpteen jillion boxes of comics. He knows me well enough to buy wedding anniversary presents that I would like: Comicbase, a page of original art from a Flaming Carrot comic book, DVDs, etc. I'm never nagged to dress or look a certain way. When I'm in a 'leave me alone' mood, he respects me enough to leave me be only checking in with a 'are you okay?' or 'do you want to talk about it?' occasionally.
2. If you have pets, do you think they love/like you? How do they show it? If you don't have pets, do you wish you did (without all the work, etc)?
I'm not sure the fish loves me. The fish loves getting fed. Max loves me but I don't know why. Probably because I was the one who fed him for the first several months. Mike feeds him now every morning before he leaves for work. Max still follows me around though. I'm by far his favorite member of the pack. Go figure.
3. How do *you* show someone you like/love them?
I do things for people to show I care. I'm not very good at the verbal reassurances. I can be physically demonstrative but more with my immediate family. I hug my kids a lot but am not a big hugger of others. I show friends I care by always being willing to be there for them. I may not always ask the right questions or notice something's wrong but if you need me I'll drop everything.
Bonus Question for Comments: Who do you love?
My kids, Mike, my brother, mom and dad, my mother-in-law, my grandma, Kelsey, Aunt Gail, E, Tracey.
