The Importance of Keys

We have a lock on our bedroom door. It's not one of those locks that you can open just by poking a big ol' piece of wire in. It requires a key. We have two keys to the lock in question.

Cal has known how to unlock doors for a while now. He's even managed to lock the bathroom door (and unlock it so he could get out). I'm not sure why but it never occurred to me that he might go into my bedroom and lock the door. Not a big deal if he did it while he was in there because, as I mentioned earlier, he can unlock doors as well.

Kind of a big deal though when the little shit decides to turn the lock on the knob and then leave the room, shutting the door behind him. Yeah, you guessed it. All the keys to that lock were in the fucking bedroom.

As luck would have it, our windows are old and Mike was able to jimmy one open and climb in through the bathroom window in our bedroom. Makes me feel like the house is going to be really safe when we go on vacation this Summer.

At least we didn't have to call a locksmith. We have since moved one of the keys to the bedroom door out of the bedroom. Live and learn especially when you're living with Cal.
