Update on My Boring Life

Yeah, I'm lame. Haven't blogged in a while. Well, other than the 3x Thursday that is.

Let's see...Thursday night Mike and I had a date night. Mike's mom came over again and ate dinner with us then she stayed with the kids while we went to see The Woodsman.

I'd read about this film a while back but figured it wouldn't show up here but lo and behold the Quail Springs (a huge mall) theater had it booked for two showings a day. If you like well-acted, dark films, go see this one. Kevin Bacon was very good in it and Mos Def was equally impressive as the cop who hassles Kevin Bacon's character from time-to-time.

Friday was the class Valentine's Day Party and a field trip to McDonald's. Needless to say, the kids were worked up all day. They managed to make it with only one kid losing the party altogether and another kid losing the party halfway through. Not too bad really considering they were kind of wired because of all the disruption in routine.

Friday evening was TKD and general laziness. Mike and Duncan went skating with Ryan and didn't get home until around 10. I was a slug and went to bed early, if I recall correctly. Cal was a slug with me because of his cold.

Saturday morning I went with mom to Affair of the Heart and picked up some nifty items. Only bought one sheep item but I was pleasantly surprised at the fact that there were some different booths there this time.

Duncan's pal Garrett spent all day Saturday with Duncan. His dad drove up from Austin again to do some selling in Lawton and he brought Garrett with him. He and Duncan had a good time playing Halo and then Mike took those two (along with Ryan) skating in the evening. Cal and I stayed home and crashed early. His cold was still kicking him in the pants and we had a relaxing time watching Spongebob Squarepants on DVD.

Sunday, Mike and Duncan went to church school and mom, Cal and I went to Affair of the Heart to go through the buildings we didn't hit on Saturday. Cal was really good. He even walked okay with the kid leash on. I found a lot more sheep items on this day. I think I spent more this Affair of the Heart than I did at the much larger one last October.

Duncan had a birthday party to attend on Sunday so after dropping him off, Mike met mom, cal and me at Taco Bueno for a late lunch. We then left mom to do some Target shopping and went to pick up Duncan at the party. They weren't quite ready for it to end so I went to Shepler's to look at their boots.

Found a pair but the floor model was the only one they had and they were kinda scuffed up. They wouldn't give me a break on the price so I elected not to buy them. Found 'em online cheaper (free shipping too) so it turned out great for me.

This week has been nothing but school, Tae Kwon Do and our regular routine. Tonight we're eating dinner at mom's, which is nice because it means I don't have to think of something for dinner. Yippee!
