Puke-a-thon 2005 Update
Well, it happened. I got to experience puke-a-thon. It hit me Thursday night around 12:30 to 1. Fortunately I'd been feeling kinda puny all day and only ate an orange and some tortilla chips for dinner. Orange isn't too bad coming back up. The first couple of times. Tortilla chips on the return trip I could do without.
So puke-a-thon decreed that everything must be out of my stomach and my colon so I was up and down the rest of the night. The next day I didn't go to school of course. I kept Duncan home too just to be sure he wasn't going to have a relapse. Mom watched the kids and I stayed in bed all day.
I watched a lot of NYPD Blue episodes and took Tylenol every four hours. Once the Tylenol would work, I was able to sleep. I'm sure being dehydrated didn't help my aches and pains (and headache) but I was afraid to drink too much water for fear I'd puke it up too. I mostly sucked on ice all day and ate a little bit of chicken noodle soup that evening. Everything stayed down thank goodness.
Today I felt a lot better. Didn't do much though and haven't eaten a lot. Duncan got a nice lesson in gastro-intestinal viruses when he woke up last night and threw up the contents of his Blue and Gold Banquet dinner. He wanted to eat a big dinner again tonight but I nixed it. I surely don't want to be woken up at 2:30 by the sound of a puking child tonight.
Here's hoping we don't experience another puke-a-thon this year.
