3x Thursday

1. Do you own your house, or do you rent? If you rent, why?

Own my house.

2. Whether you rent or not, do you believe that you should keep your residence up? Why/Why not? What do you do for upkeep?

Of course you should. When you rent, upkeep should be the landlord's responsibility. But when you own, you've got to do it yourself. Currently we're still in the fixing the place up mode. This house was vacant for at least a year before we bought it and the people who owned it before that weren't too big on the upkeep aspects of home ownership. We've painted the inside and outside (most of it--primer, still have to put final coat on about half the house) and have plans for purchasing new windows next.

3. Do you clean regularly (make sure you include your definition of 'regularly')? How often? Why?

Geez...semi regularly, meaning once a quarter maybe. Mostly I maintain. Eventually I get exasperated and do a good thorough cleaning of various areas. The kitchen is up next for a good mopping and cabinet scrubbing. Just haven't had the time with working at the school.

Bonus Question for Comments: Do you clean, or do you have a cleaning person? If you clean yourself, would you hire a cleaning person if you could? Why/Why not?

I don't have a cleaning person unless you count my mom who likes to wash and fold my clothes while she's here with Cal during the day. She says it keeps her from getting bored. Who am I to complain?

Would I hire a cleaning person? Probably not. I'd feel like a lazy slug if I did.
