My weekend was a lot more relaxing than my week. Duncan's good pal Garrett was in town from Austin and arrived at our house early Saturday morning. The two settled in right away and picked up their old passion -- Super Smash Brothers on the Gamecube.
We met mom for lunch at Los Amigos and then went to the comic shop to pick up my week's worth of comics. After that we headed home for a bit before heading out to see the Spongebob Squarepants movie at the dollar theater.
Cal did surprisingly well and only wanted to wander about 50% of the time. He does like Spongebob Squarepants (or as he calls him--Baba Bearbah) so we figured he might pay attention a little better. Oh and the movie was cute. I didn't fall asleep and it made me laugh.
Home once again and the kids played more video games while Cal played and Mike rested and I rested and tidied. All in all, a very lazy Saturday. Garrett wanted to spend the night rather than go back to the hotel room with his dad and the kids crashed around 11:30.
Sunday Mike and Cal headed off to church school leaving me with Garrett and Duncan who, you guessed it, played videogames all morning. We took the kids to McDonald's for lunch and came home to more videogames and a few chores.
Garrett stayed past dinner and ended up going back to his dad's hotel room around 10 pm. They were going to head back to Austin today since Garrett's school is out today and tomorrow. I don't envy his dad the drive back with four kids.
So nothing much accomplished during the weekend beyond getting some clothes washed and the DVDs organized. Mike and I didn't make it to see The House of Flying Daggers but I'm shooting for that to happen this week. Maybe his mom can babysit one evening for us. We haven't had a date night in ages.
