3x Thursday

1. Do you get into 'funks' very often? Can you identify when you are in one?

Not really. Well, not long-term funks. Cranky and moody I do a lot. I can identify when I'm in a bad mood and people should leave me alone and I always know when I'm in a funk.

2. What happens when you are in a funk? I mean, how do you react to the world around you?

When I'm in an honest-to-goodness funk and not just cranky, I withdraw. Usually I'll go about my every day activities but it's not unusual for me to cry at odd moments and in the evening when the whole family is home I'll stay in my room watching tv or reading. Usually zoning out on tv when I'm in a bad funk.

3. When you get Funky, do you know *why*? What do you to get out of it?

Mine probably have a lot to do with a genetic predisposition. I usually just wait it out and let it run its course. A few days (at worst, weeks) of wallowing and then I'm good to go again.

Bonus Question for Comments: How do you help the ones you care about when they're in a funk?

Listen when they need me to and back off when they need to be alone. You can't force someone out of a funk. You can only be there for them and let them know they're loved.
