I finished Laurell K. Hamilton's latest paperback, Cerulean Sins, last week. While reading her work, I've noticed she has particular words or phrases she likes to use...a lot. The most noticeable and easily tracked is "spill".
I must admit she's gotten better. For example in this novel, "spill" in some form or another was only used 34 times. Not too shabby...34. I seem to recall running a spill count in a few of her other books and the number was well over a hundred. And these books weren't as fat as Cerulean Sins. I may start rereading the Anita Blake books so I can do a spill count for each one.

Ever consider writing her and giving some feedback on the *spill* count?
It is not like you do not buy the books, since you obviously do and you even enjoy them, but maybe no one has pointed out this to her? posted by E : 8:19 AM
