Time for 3x Thursday
1. How do you get your music/new music these days (radio, tv, internet, friends)? What kind of music are you into right now?
With the death of The Spy, I can't rely on the radio any longer. I guess I mostly use friends and reading about groups on the internet. I know Mike watches MTV2 and uses the internet mostly. Right now I alternate between listening to bluegrass influenced country and rock.
2. By which medium do you receive music? Do you still buy CDs, or do you buy the albums in digital form? Or both?
CDs mainly. Mike is the music downloader although he hasn't downloaded any in a while.
3. What is your opinion about downloading music without purchasing it? Do you believe it really hurts record sales? Is anyone but the RIAA really suffering?
Go here for my response. It's the last question.
Bonus Question for Comments: Do you think that the internet a good source for new (or stuff you'd never really think about listening to) music? How? Why/Why not?
Sure. It's a great place for people to put samples of their music or even for bands who may not have a record deal to sell CDs of their music. Even Amazon offers music samples for most of the CDs they carry. This makes it much easier to browse online and hear samples.
