The Day

Mike and Duncan are off at church. Mike is teaching the junior high class so this means he's committed to getting up early on Sunday until the end of the school year. They don't really have formal church school classes for the kids during the Summer.

I think next Sunday Cal and I may go with them. Mainly we're going so Cal can play with some other kids his age. The two year old class is more like a day care than a class. Hence, I'll probably take a book with me and watch him to make sure the Lord of Chaos doesn't give the volunteers heart attacks.

Speaking of the Lord of Chaos, I'm not even sure I should buy him toys this year for Christmas. His attention is better held by things like dumping the sand out of brother's "hellfire" bottles or spraying Lysol at things to see how wet and smelly they'll get. If he does play with toys, he looks more like an extreme play tester than anything. If there's a way to destroy a toy, believe me, Cal will find it. *sigh* Can you tell I'm ready for Mike and Duncan to get home?

I think we'll take a break on painting today. Mike's allergies have been kicking his butt for the past couple of weeks and I think he needs a day of rest. Duncan wants to go to the park to shoot off his model rocket so maybe we'll do that. I think it's windy enough for a kite too.
