Saturday was a busy/lazy day for the Hodge Lodge. Mike had to attend orientation for the Unitarian Church School class he'll be teaching. A couple of years ago he taught the little kids. This year he'll be tackling the junior high kids. Better him than me.
Cal, Duncan and I headed over to mom's so we could get Cal's two year old pictures taken. I also had them take a few of Cal and Duncan together for this year's Christmas cards. I usually have it done in November when we do Duncan's yearly pictures but the rush for photo cards is so big then, I'm always late getting my cards out.
Then we met Mike for lunch and the four of us went home to relax and give mom a little rest time away from the kids. Mike and Cal napped and Duncan and I played BTVS: Chaos Bleeds. He made it through two more levels.
We did absolutely nothing constructive all afternoon. It was quite fun.
Then around 6:30 we met up with Tracey and took the kids back to mom's. Then we picked up Denise and went out for dinner. Denise was in town visiting her folks. Her dad had open heart surgery so it was one of those family emergency visits.
We had a nice chat and a decent dinner. Picked up the kids around 11. Poor Cal was asleep and we woke him up just to take him home. He fell right back to sleep on the ride home.
Stayed up far too late last night but had a great time just the same. As a result, I'm moving slow this morning.
Mike and I need to paint today but he's beset by allergies (and maybe a touch of a cold) so it looks like painting will happen after lunch. The part of the house we need to work on is in full, hot sun right now anyway so it's just as well.
