Rainy Sunday

It's raining cats and dogs today. The forecast didn't call for this kind of weather but here it is. No sanding the house for us today.

We may wander the mall for a bit today. Duncan picked out some things at Spencer's that he wants for Christmas and with him being out of town this is the perfect time to pick 'em up.

We'll veg mostly I guess. Poor Cal. Vegging parents aren't very exciting.

Oh, last night we watched Starship Troopers 2. I really liked Starship Troopers. It's over-the-top, action-packed, Sci-fi fun. Starship Troopers 2 was not.

Starship Troopers 2 turned out to be a cheesy horror flick. You see, the bugs have come up with a really nasty bug that can enter a human being (through the mouth) and basically take them over. It also kills the human host so you end up with these evil zombie humans who like to eat a lot of sugar. Their plan is to infect the humans taking refuge at this outpost and then when they're picked up they'll infect lots of other humans, gradually wiping out the entire human race. Simple, huh?

Not really simple. For one thing, the whole being in control of a dead body thing might tip some people off. Last time I checked, dead bodies don't smell very good. And the bugs couldn't keep from making the humans they controlled from acting creepy. Of course, the better for the audience to pick up on 'something isn't right.'

One of the zombie humans was this blonde chick who was picked to be the nudie portion of the movie. Every time she would infect someone, she liked to get nekkid. Damn silly and gratuitous is what it was. I was glad when she was offed.

If you liked the original Starship Troopers, don't rent this one.
