Number One Son Returns

Duncan, mom and Kelsey made it safely home. They got in around 2:30 and were tired but excited to see us. Cal was napping but woke up when he heard noise and his first word was "Duncan?" He was really happy to see his big brother. He gave him a big hug when Duncan went into his room. Very sweet.

I had some bad news for Duncan when he got in though. Joe called before lunch saying that something had come up and he and Garrett wouldn't be making it to our house for the weekend. Quite a bummer. Duncan was okay with it until mom and Kelsey left. Then he started moping around the house. Every time he would talk he was on the verge of tears so I told him to go lay down in his room and rest. He's pooped but doesn't realize it yet.

They had a great time but Duncan could have done without GG (Mike's grandmother) singling him out for every little thing. More often than not she would gripe at him for things he wasn't even guilty of. Poor kid. For some reason Mike's grandmother likes to have heroes and villains in her world and for the week they were in Branson, Duncan got to be the villain. It's probably a good thing Mike and I weren't there because we wouldn't have let it go on. Mike in particular can be a hardass when it comes to calling his grandmother on her bad behavior. Gayle put a stop to it eventually. She threatened to take grandmother home or put her on a bus back to OKC. I'm so glad I was able to play the Cal card and stay in OKC.

Taking Angela on trips with me, and looking for sheep everywhere we go has gotten my mother noticing my sheep obsession. Good mom that she is, she brought back a stuffed sheep from Branson. I'm not sure I'll ever clue her in on the whole story behind the sheep thing. She might disapprove....
