More of the Same

We're finally getting our hot August temps. Only in the mid 90s though. Usually August is full of 100+ days. Definitely a mild Summer.

Duncan meets his third grade teacher today at noon. I'll probably corral Cal outside while Mike and Duncan go in and put his school supplies away. Tomorrow he officially starts the new school year.

After that I told Duncan he could pick a place for lunch since it was his last weekday at home for a while. Then after lunch we may swim. It's supposed to hit 96 today.

I've got chores to do around the house of course. Cal's birthday is Friday and I need to get ready for that. I won't get too worried about it. It's just family. They know how chaotic our household is so everything won't have to be absolutely perfect.

I do need to find some birthday wrapping paper or Cal's present will be wrapped in Christmas paper. Oh, speaking of Cal's present, I found a bike yesterday at Academy Sports. It was cheaper than the one at Toys 'R' Us and it actually had a price tag on it. And there was more than one on the shelf. Competence is a lovely thing.

Today is a Tae Kwon Do day so we'll head over to mom's maybe around 3. This will give Cal plenty of time to play. I think we'll have leftovers for dinner. Then Duncan and I will work through Level 7 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds.

It's funny to watch us play this game. Duncan is better at kicking vampire butt because he's played the game more than me. So when it's my turn to run through the game, he gets frustrated with how long it takes me to kill the bad guys. But I can still kick his butt in Soul Calibur 2.
