Lovely Saturday

Everyone is in residence at the Hodge Lodge and all is right with the world. I'm sure by this evening we'll all be on each other's nerves again over some little thing but that's the way it works when you're trapped together living as a family.

No high temps again in OKC. It might hit 82, which is damn cool for August. No swimming in the pool today I'm sure.

But I am going to be able to start painting the house. Woo hoo! There's a 30% chance of rain forecast but in Okie-speak that means "no rain". So we're going to risk it. Mike will sand the last few bits of wood and I'll start painting the front porch I do believe. I'm sure when the neighbors see primer actually hitting the house they'll breathe a sigh of relief.

We'll take the kids to mom's because paint and the Lord of Chaos do not mix. Duncan would be okay but I'm not sure if he's going to want to paint. He may think he wants to paint but when the actual tedium of painting sets in I can see him putting down his brush and wishing he had gone to mamaw's. I'll entice him with the prospect of playing with Joel. That should push those 'painting is fun' fantasies right out of his head.
