July in Oklahoma?
It should be hot in July. It should be sweltering. What's the temp right now? 64. What's the projected high for today? 75. Yesterday's high didn't get past 75. It would have been the perfect day to work on the outside of the house but because the forecast called for a 100% chance of rain we decided to blow it off. Plus the wood was pretty wet from the rain the night before.
But today we're not blowing it off. Cool weather and a 20% chance of rain equals sanding, scraping and wood puttying, much to Mike's dismay. He sprained his wrist and it's paining him. Maybe I'll send him off to buy primer and he can start painting. That should be easy on the ol' wrist.
So what did we do yesterday if we didn't work on the house? Absolutely nothing. We lounged around all morning. Okay, we lounged and Mike worked on a problem that arose with the Integris web site. Then we met mom for lunch around 1:30. After lunch, Mike and Duncan headed off to see I, Robot and Cal, mom and I went to Garden Ridge.
After Garden Ridge, mom drove us home and Cal and I hung around the house. We played outside a bit. It was soooo nice and cool. I sat in the hammock and enjoyed the breeze and the trees. Cal never did take a nap.
Mike and Duncan got home around 6 and I did a few chores while Duncan played Gamecube. Cal wandered around alternately messing, watching Finding Nemo and bothering Duncan.
Mike left for his grandmother's apartment around 8 to fix the computer desk his older brother put together incorrectly. By the time he got back a couple of hours later, Cal had finally crashed so we made Duncan go to bed too.
After that I watched Graduation Day Part 2 (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and then I went to bed.
So that was our day. Quite sad. It wasn't like we didn't have plenty of other things we could have done around the house but I wasn't in the mood to be the drill sergeant and I could tell Mike wasn't pumped about being productive. He was really in waste some time at the movies mode. It would have taken me to be the meanie and make him work.
Today though. I'm being the meanie.
