Being a Big Ol’ Couch Potato
Actually it's a big ol' bed potato because the television in the living room is usually otherwise occupied. I finished watching BTVS Season 3 this weekend and started on BTVS Season 4. Season 4 is Buffy's first year at college.
There were so many good episodes in season four--Wild at Heart, Hush, This Year's Girl, Who Are You, Superstar, New Moon Rising. In fact the season as a whole was solid with all the Initiative shenanigans, Spike's return, Riley as Buffy's new love interest, Tara as Willow's and last, but not least, Harmony. She may not have appeared in that many episodes of Buffy but Mercedes McNab stole the show in every scene she was in. Watching Buffy sure makes me miss good television.
Speaking of television, I watched the Stargate: Atlantis premiere last night. I missed it the first time around but fortunately the SciFi Channel likes to repeat things so I was able to see it. The big bad guys are hard to kill vampy types--they suck the life force out of humans for their sustenance. In the first episode they discover that a planet named Earth is a Wraith McDonaldland just waiting to be descended upon. Thus begins the conflict--kick the butts of the humans who have taken over the Wraith's ancient enemy's home ground and find out where that smorgasboard Earth is located.
I've got little enough to watch these days that I'll give it a shot. I'll even break my boycott of the SciFi Channel to do it. They are bringing us Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars after all. I can't hate them quite as much as I did when they canceled Farscape and left us hanging with a pile of John and Aeryn ash.
