Busy, Busy, Busy

Monday and Tuesday were going to the lab for tests days for me. Tuesday I had a pelvic exam. I guess my doctor being an ob-gyn decided she may as well have me put up on the rack and *really* checked out. Since the whole reproductive area is her ball o'wax so to speak she wanted to make sure nothing was going on in the ol' uterus to cause my stomach pain.

So Tuesday morning I had to go to the lab with a full bladder. By the time they called me in for the scan at 9:35 I couldn't sit down I needed to pee so bad. So I lay down on the table, pull my pants down to my hips, the tech applies the ky-jellied scanning device and after a few passes tells me she's going to have to scan my uterus vaginally because "it tilts backward". My uterus tilts backward. Who knew? Maybe that's why it took so long for me to get pregnant with Cal. My uterus wasn't being cooperative in the whole dissemination game.

So a vaginal ultrasound of my uterus. Hmmmm... At least I got to empty my bladder--twice! The vaginal ultrasound really wasn't too bad. Certainly preferable to squirming in discomfort while someone scans you while you've got a full bladder. The tech allowed me to insert the wand myself. And it was slicked up with enough KY to make something twice its size pass easily so no worries there. Then the tech just kind of moved it around a bit and took the scans. The whole while you're covered with a sheet too so it's not like you have to lay there all nonchalant with your hoo hoo in the air with a big wand sticking out of it.

I come home after the visit to the lab with that icky, KY feeling in my crotch once again and discovered that I was supposed to take Cal for his 18 month checkup at 10:20 that morning. It was 10:35 when I saw that little note. I'm such a ditz. It totally slipped my mind. I was disgusted with myself because I *never* forget things like that. I can only blame my Monday and Tuesday of tests.

I called and rescheduled (can't get in again until April) and hopefully I won't have to pay some kind of office visit fee for not canceling the appointment.

Next up for my Tuesday was going with Tracey's class to McDonald's. Mom, Cal and I went and the kids did very well. After that it was my usual Tuesday at home with Cal (nap time, a few chores) and then off to get Duncan from school and take him to Tae Kwan Do for sparring class.

That evening I spent a lovely time organizing our receipts for a trip to the tax guy on Wednesday.

Which leads us to Wednesday. Mom, Cal and I left after taking Duncan to school for Lawton and our annual trip to the tax guy. He doesn't really live in Lawton but just outside it. However, we usually go early so we can visit K-Mart there. All of the OKC K-marts closed so only a few Oklahoma towns now have a K-Mart.

We killed a little time there. I found Arwen and Gandalf the White action figures for Duncan. The only Arwen figure I'd ever seen was the one with her horse and Gandalf action figures were hard to find as well. So, of course, I had to snag these and Duncan benefitted from his mom's paranoia.

The visit with the tax guy proceeded without mishap. We're getting a refund again this year, which is nice. The only downside to the visit was practically everyone in that place smokes like a freakin' chimney. The weather was horrible yesterday--overcast and wet--so Cal and I couldn't do our usual and play outside. We were stuck inside with all that smoke. My clothes were saturated with it by the time we left. Heck, I can still smell it in my nostrils. I don't know how they stand it day after day.

We made it home in time to meet Duncan and Ryan and Gayle (she picked them up from school) and mom took the two boys to Tae Kwan Do. I stayed home with Cal because he was asleep and I really wasn't looking forward to putting him in the car yet again. He'd had his fill for the day.

After Tae Kwan Do was dinner and our usual evening activities. And now we're to today and I have absolutely no appointments or obligations beyond washing and folding clothes. Lovely.
