My Exciting Friday

It's portfolio time again for Tracey and that means she has to take a few days off to work on them in uninterrupted peace and quiet. I was supposed to sub Thursday and Friday this week but Tracey was knocked out by a cold and missed quite a few days so she hated to take Thursday off too.

So my day began early which wasn't too bad. Most of my days begin kind of early--have to get the kid ready for school after all. But last night I had a lovely gall bladder attack and that kept me awake until about 12:30. I ended up taking Tylenol PM to help with the pain and I always feel like a zombie the morning after taking it. Yeah, I wasn't moving very quickly until I took my shower.

Duncan and I both made it to school on time. My day ended up being pretty easy. Being Friday we had Cougar Celebration in the morning, then off to library where the kids listened to a story and colored and cut out some Valentine's Day themed bookmarks.

Once we made it back to the classroom we had to decorate some lovely paper bags for holding all of those Valentine's Day goodies. I got to create Tracey's beauteous bag and she had better keep it forever and ever because it was a work of art and I'll be mighty pissed if I find out she's thrown it away.

Lunch with Mike then back to school where the kids were snuggled up for rest time. Today was the big Volleyball championship game and at 2 pm we watched the two teams battle it out. The Crushing Cougars beat the Blazers quite handily. Then the winning team played the Coronado Educators--a team made up of teachers. It was cute and everyone had a lot of fun. Although an hour watching volleyball stretched the attention span limits of most of the younger kids (and my brood).

After the volleyball championship it was time for our Valentine's Day party. Too bad Tracey had to miss it. Fortunately the party was at the end of the day and we could send all these hyped-up-on-sugar kids home.

School ended and Duncan and I headed to Tae Kwan Do. Cal was with mom all day so I picked him up and we had a lovely dinner of stinky salmon patties (Duncan loves them). Then we settled down for some nice family time watching the episode of Survivor we taped last night. It was quite sad reading that Jenna's mom passed away eight days after Jenna returned home.
