Cookie Heck

Well, the last two days have been pretty much taken up by making cookies. A few years ago I got into the habit of making cookies for Mike to give out to co-workers during the Holiday season. I also would give a few tins to friends. It has since become something I do every year.

The last two years my mom has helped me, which makes this cookie making thing go a lot quicker. With two you can set up a nice assemly line *and* there's always someone to handle the annoying one year old who likes to crawl up on the dining room table chairs and grab cookies. "Cookie" is part of his vocabulary so he definitely knows what they are.

I still have more cookies I can make but they are of a sort that you can make over the course of several days. The dough is cream cheese based so it does best when it's really cold. I need to pick up more pecans to finish these though. And I might do it at my mom's house. These are best when you make them with a partner.

In non-cookie related news, yesterday we went to Duncan's school to eat lunch with him. They served turkey and dressing, mashed potatos and gravy, green beans, a roll and a sugar cookie. It was a pretty good lunch for $2.50. Then it was back to the house for more cookie making.

Today I'm planning on being a domestic goddess in terms of doing laundry. I may attempt a run to the post office. Unfortunately John and Gina's stuff this year will most likely make it after Christmas. Oh well, I've been good up until this year. Besides, how fun to get presents in the mail *after* Christmas. It's like a whole 'nother Christmas!

I wish my Christmas cards with a pic. of the kids on it would come in. I'm so behind this year. *sigh*
