About My Car
I mentioned in passing yesterday that I just got my car out of the shop. I'd been noticing a gasoline smell for a couple of weeks and eventually the problem showed itself to be a leak coming from somewhere near the gas tank. Not wanting to be engulfed in a fiery ball of death, I took my car over to Chad's Car Care on Monday.
It turns out there's a sensor unit attached to the gas tank. The seal on that unit was gone, hence the leaking gas. Unfortunately you can't just replace the seal you have to replace the whole unit and it costs anywhere from $575 to $750. And that's just for the part. Who knows what the labor would be? But the fellas at Chad's are great and devised a solution for $70. So far it's holding and I hope it keeps on holding until I drive this car into the ground and it's time to get a new one.
