Fandom Day

We didn't do too much today. Mike was still pooped from his three days of meetings in Austin so he slept late and after a delicious lunch at McDonald's we headed to Crossroads Mall and Fandom Day organized by STAR OKC and the Waldenbooks located there.

Mel Odom was supposed to arrive around 2 pm and sign some books at Waldenbooks but he never showed up for the signing. It's a shame too because they had a nice display ready and he might have been able to sell a few and put some bucks in his pocket.

Folks from Serendipity and the USS Mirage also had tables there and were also attempting to spread the word about their clubs and get new members. A couple of guys from RoninCon snagged some table space also and brought flyers for their Anime con.

All in all, not a total waste of the day. One person signed up for more information about STAR OKC and we got to meet Tom, a fan from Shawnee who has been chatting with us in the STAR OKC Yahoo! Group. He was very friendly and I'd like to see him come up to OKC more and hang out with us.

After the Fandom Day festivities were over we went to Outlaw's BBQ and had a brief business meeting and ate dinner. I think more eating was done than actual club business but we're a laid back bunch so no one seemed to mind.
